On Friday, July 27, 1990, an attack was launched against the very soul of our nation’s democracy. For six dark and uncertain days, Trinidad and Tobago was pushed to the brink. In the face of terror, the brave men and women of our protective services stood their ground. Some made the ultimate sacrifice—including Assistant Superintendent Roger George and Police Sentry Solomon McLeod—to shield our freedom and restore order to our streets.
Thirty-six years later, we refuse to forget their courage.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) proudly invites the entire public to stand—and run/walk—with us for the Defenders of Democracy 6K. Whether you are a competitive runner pushing for a personal best, a casual jogger, or a family walking together, your presence on the starting line sends a powerful message: We honor our history, and we stand united in defense of our freedom.
