Bafasports and SATT Deliver Festive Flair at SATT 6k Road Race

Our racing calendar showed no signs of slowing as the holiday season approached, with the Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) becoming the latest partner in an action-packed year of road racing.

Their collaboration came to life on December 14 with the successful staging of the SATT 6K, which brought runners together for a six-kilometre jaunt to uptown Port of Spain and back.

Echoing the festive atmosphere of the recently concluded Starbucks Coffee Run, the SATT 6K felt as much like a Christmas gathering as it did a race.

Participants embraced the holiday spirit with festive attire, while organisers treated runners to an extensive prize distribution and traditional Christmas fare during the post-race lime.

The course began along Scott Bushe Street, before leading runners up to the Queen’s Park Savannah. Competitors completed a lap around the landmark before heading back to where they started, providing a scenic and challenging route through the heart of Port of Spain.

Blinging out! Runners at the SATT 6k road race last Sunday show off their medals after the finish. There was a lot of Christmas-relate fanfare after the race as the eats, drinks, and good times flowed after the last runner crossed the finish line. Photo: courtesy Bafasports Media.

Tafari Waldron continued his impressive end-of-season form, crossing the line first to seize another gold medal to continue his red-hot streak at the end of 2025.

Waldron stopped the clock at 20:39, with Keron Ali and Meteu Neter finishing second and third respectively. In the women’s division, Alexia John took top honours in 24:14, finishing a minute ahead of April Francis in second, while Shian Lewis secured third place.

Bafasports, The Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago and their valued partners; Hugsol, Sourcing Guru, TruValu, Seaboard Trinidad, Huggins Shipping, Optometrists Today, Gulf Shipping, Radisson, Hyatt, Meville Shipping, Trinidad Freight Solutions, Xtra Foods, and GG Logistics, were able to host another successful event on the asphalt.

With the SATT 6K now complete, the Bafasports continues full speed ahead with their Advent Calendar Challenge and the ongoing Million Mile Challenge, which sees participants across the country collectively uploading their miles in pursuit of a one-million-mile target.

With every stride and every start line, Bafasports continues to reaffirm its mission to empower communities, promote wellness, and inspire positive change, one run at a time.
