All Roads Leads to Maraval for Health Ministry 5K

It’s been quite a ride since our races picked up after the Carnival break, and after our packed schedule on the Easter Weekend we’re just getting started.

The events are coming thick and fast now, as the Maraval Health Ministry 5K and Health Fair 2026 is our next destination this Sunday.

We’re quite eager to keep the momentum going after the Midnight Half Marathon on Easter Monday, and the landmark KFC Colonel’s 5K and 1K the following Saturday at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

Community Outreach and Running

The Maraval Health Ministry has been at it for three years with their health fair and opted to up the ante with a 5K race, and who better to consult with for a 5K other than the experts here at Bafasports?

Included in the mix on the side will be free health checks, including blood pressure kits, glucose testing, eye exams, and checks for cholesterol levels.

But that’s just the beginning, because nutritional counseling, dental and scoliosis screening, medical and surgical consultation, and legal and financial advice will also be available.

Uphill Battle. Runners contest our La Vega 8K held in July 2025, which was a race that was as close to nature as the asphalt. This Sunday, Bafasports will collaborate with the Maraval Health Ministry as their annual Health Fair will now include a road running component in their inaugural 5K race in Saddle Road. The Scenic Route to the Umpteenth Degree

And of course, there will be a race to run.

This one is with the technical runners in mind. While it isn’t quite the cross-country iron-man-style race through the forest, the winding uphill of Saddle Road including the view, and closeness to nature, will be just what the doctor ordered for the running enthusiast looking for a stiffer challenge.

The course winds up Saddle Road at the beginning before diverting towards Perseverance Road and cutting across to Moka Road before making the u-turn and running back to the start.

The Usual Bells, Whistles, and then some

Some of the novelties to look forward to apart from the health screenings, and community atmosphere are the specialty medals of course, as well as race course photography that captures the journey, hydration and motivation stations, prizes, and something new this time: a chance for a one-night stay for two at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort for a lucky in-person or virtual winner.

Get Ready, the Night is Coming!

And coming soon is the St Joseph’s Convent 5K on May 3, while the night races will return with the Midnight Marathon on May 10, which will also feature the Ekiden Relay at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

You know how we do it; we’re just getting started.
