Fatima College celebrated its 80th anniversary in grand style on Saturday 8, with the successful staging of its 5K Run and Walk along Mucurapo Road.
The event, one of our latest, was ably supported by the Parent Support Group (PSG), and drew a record number of over 1400 participants, ranging from students and alumni to seasoned runners and fitness enthusiasts from across the country.

The course took competitors through a scenic and challenging route, starting on Mucurapo Road, before carving a path up Serpentine Road and looping around Federation Park via Saddle Road, and Long Circular Road. Runners and walkers then made their way to the finish line on Francis Lau Street, in the vicinity of Fatima College.
With options to run, jog, or walk, each stride symbolised a tribute to 80 years of excellence at the College topped off with special commemorative medals for the participants.
Ensuring participant safety and a smooth event, we coordinated closely with law enforcement to manage traffic and provide a secure route.
And when the action finally hit the pavement, Isaiah Alder, clocking 18:13, topped the field by an almost two-minute margin ahead of his nearest rival William Mootoo, with Hezekiah Marcano rounding off the podium in third.
Meanwhile the ladies who made the podium had an even stiffer battle for precious metal as the gap between Gianna Pichery and Leah de Frietas was only 18 seconds between first and second place. Anaya Roberts finished third nine seconds later.
Among the students, Jeremy Samaroo racked up an impressive time of 18:30, to be the first student to cross the line, and not far off from winning the entire race himself, while Kayden Siewrattan, and Harland Samuel, finished in second and third respectively.
Our commitment to quality event management was complemented by the generous support of several corporate partners, including Subway, Starbucks, Bmobile, JTA Supermarkets, Xtra Foods, Kiss, Realicious, Aid Allies Medical, Guiltless Yogurt, True, and Mr. Pop.Together, Fatima College and Bafasports delivered a memorable morning of fitness, fun, and community spirit; perfectly fitting for a milestone celebration eight decades in the making!
